Filtered Files
100% Private — No Upload
All filter processing uses your browser's built-in CSS filter engine. Your images never leave your device — nothing is uploaded to any server at any point.
Drag-to-Compare Preview
The before/after preview stays pinned on screen as you adjust sliders. Drag the divider to reveal the original underneath the filtered version — no scrolling needed.
10 Instant Presets
One-click presets for the most popular looks — Vintage, Faded, Vivid, Cool, Warm, B&W, Dark, Matte, Clarity and Natural. Customise any preset with the sliders.
What Each Filter Slider Does
All eight sliders correspond to standard CSS filter functions applied in real time. Combine any adjustments — the preview updates instantly so you always see the result. Use the presets as starting points then fine-tune with sliders.
Brightness
Controls overall lightness. 100% is the original. Below 100% darkens; above 100% lightens. Useful for correcting underexposed or overexposed photos.
Contrast
Controls the difference between light and dark areas. Higher contrast makes darks darker and lights lighter — gives flat images more punch and depth.
Saturation
Controls colour intensity. 0% = full grayscale — makes photo black and white free online. Above 100% boosts vibrancy for travel photos and social media.
Blur
Applies a Gaussian blur in pixels. Useful for soft backgrounds, blurring sensitive info in screenshots, or creating shallow depth-of-field effects.
Hue Rotate
Shifts all colours around the colour wheel by the specified degrees. At 180° all colours become their complements — creates dramatic artistic colour shifts.
Sepia
Applies the warm brown tone of aged photographs — add sepia filter to photo free online. 100% = full sepia; lower values blend subtly for a warm vintage feel.
Grayscale
Converts the image to black and white using a standard luminance conversion. Lower values partially desaturate for a faded or muted colour look.
Invert
Inverts all pixel values — creates a negative image. 100% = full inversion. Partial inversion creates eerie artistic results popular in graphic design.
How to Add Filters to Photos Online — Free, No Photoshop, No Watermark
This free online image filter tool lets you edit photos without Photoshop — no software to install, no account needed, no watermarks and no file size limits. Upload your image, click a preset or adjust the sliders, and see the result instantly in the preview panel. On mobile the preview appears above the controls so you can see changes as you make them. Drag the divider on the preview to compare original and filtered side by side. When you are happy, click Apply to download your filtered image free with no watermark.
The tool supports batch processing — upload up to 20 images at once and the same filter settings apply to all of them. After applying filters, use our image compressor to reduce file size, our image resizer to set exact dimensions, our image cropper to trim to a specific aspect ratio, or pick colours from your filtered image using our colour picker. You can also add a watermark to your filtered images before sharing.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I make a photo black and white online free?
Upload your photo, then either click the B&W preset for instant black and white conversion, or drag the Grayscale slider to 100% for full desaturation. Download the result free with no watermark and no sign-up required. You can also partially desaturate by setting Grayscale to 50–80% for a faded, muted colour look.
How do I add a vintage or sepia filter to a photo free online?
Click the Vintage or Faded preset for an instant aged-photo effect, or use the Sepia slider manually — set it to 60–100% for a classic warm brown tone. Combine with slightly reduced Saturation and Contrast for a more authentic vintage look. Download free, no watermark, no sign-up.
Does applying a filter reduce image quality?
Filters are applied using the HTML5 Canvas API at high quality. Saving as PNG produces a lossless result. Saving as JPG applies JPEG compression at 92% quality — visually indistinguishable from lossless for most images. The original image is never modified.
Can I combine multiple filters at once?
Yes — all eight sliders work simultaneously. You can increase contrast, reduce saturation and add sepia all at the same time to create a custom vintage look. The preview updates in real time as you drag each slider.
Can I apply filters to multiple images at once?
Yes — upload up to 20 images and the same filter settings apply to all of them when you click Apply. Download them one by one or all at once as a ZIP file — free, no watermarks and no sign-up required.
How does the drag-to-compare preview work?
The preview shows original and filtered images overlaid. Drag the white divider left to reveal more of the original, or right to show more of the filtered version. On mobile the preview sits above the controls so you can always see the effect as you adjust sliders without scrolling.
